Autocad Format loaded .dwg does not display Japanese fonts correctly

We have older English/Kanji Font Autocad 2004 format drawings. In Windows 7 Pro SP2 (all updates) 64bit En OS we used Bricsys Cad 17.X EN and the fonts do not display. I loaded the Bricsys Cad 17.X JP version and they are fine. Autocad 2006/2007 as well as TrueView 2018 are fine as well. As this is a evaluation purchase/trial to replace existing multiple Autocad system, seeing the fonts is needed. Is there a setting I may have missed? I googled, checked the forums, referenced the manual. What did I miss?

Most likely this is a font file issue. The English version of BricsCAD probably does not have the required .shx file with Japanese characters.
To test this try choosing a different font for the text style. If you choose a 'standard' Windows true type font (such as Arial) that supports a wide range of character sets, the texts should display properly.

  • it`s because of the .shx file you are lacking. Had the same problem problem
