File Size - reasonable project complexity

I noticed that Brisccads DWGs are very compact in file size, often kB only.
a lot smaller than I was used from other Apps.

1.
To get a feeling for it,
what are typical file sizes for BIM projects,
or what are file sizes that start to get hard to edit ?

2.
Are there differences of file handling between PC and Mac ?
(Mac weaker ?)

I'm on Mac (nMac Pro 24 GB RAM 2xD700 6 GB VRAM)
I tried to export one of my Projects with typical complexity to export from Vectorworks.
It was modelt by Solids at that time, no BIM objects. VW does handle it very well in editing
and OpenGL Display.
The DWG was around 100 MB and not realistically edit able.
So I exported again by omitting some consultants HVAC and Furniture to get a 27 MB DWG.

But that still does not better. Opening the the file is slow, each saving is slow and OpenGL
has lags sometimes too. So not realistically to work with.

Is that too much for Bricscad ?
Or may there be some problems with geometry that could be optimized ?

Thanks
