How can I transfer drawing settings to another drawing?

• I have two drawings loaded, but the layer definitions are different: some of drawing "a" are missing in drawing "b"
• For now the question is about Layers, but I guess other settings could follow - like Materials, Text Styles, etc.

  How can I transfer such settings from drawing "a" to drawing "b" without redefining them?
  And can I set them up to automatically synchronise them? (changes in "b" automatically reflecting in "a")

Synchronise?:
BricsCAD documents are not linked to the template they were derived from (a feature you see in some Office applications). Without some form of custom programming this is currently not possible.
