ViewBase Command

Any way to add an object once the Viewbase has been created?
I have quite a few section views & changing the Base view messes up the locations of the section views.
Basically I almost need to start over if I can't save the base view.

  • The Select option of the ViewEdit command allows to add/remove entities.
If the BaseView command is used with the Entire Model option, then new entities are added automatically.

  • I was not able to select or see any additional objects when I tried ViewEdit.
Only those items in the generated viewport were visible.
Using ViewEdit in Paperspace, select the view to edit and nothing indicated a way to add objects.

I went ahead & recreated all the views to fix my current problem.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Dear Alan
The sequence to add entities to generated views is as follows:
    1. Open the layout were the generated views are created.
    2. Launch the ViewEdit command.
    3. Select a single view (click inside the viewport), then right click. (If more views are selected, the Select option in step 4 is not available)
    You are prompted: Select option [Scale/Hidden lines/Tangent lines/anChor/Geometry/sElect] :
    4. Choose the Select option.
Model space displays, all already selected entities are highlighted.
You are prompted: Select objects to add to set or [Remove/Entire model/Layout] :
    5. Select the entities to be added or choose another option (Remove, Entire model).

  • Oh thanks,
That will be a big help. I'll add that to my BC Tips & Tricks File. ;)
