"Viewbase" inconsistent results

Hi all
Maybe I'm simply tired, but this happened in several files already.
The Friday syndrome is surely not helping. ;-)

The following example being the "typical" with my Bricscad V18.
FYI basically all elements are Xref,or better yet "mechanical components".
Any ideas? PDF has notes

    I've experienced some intermittent problems with VIEWBASE, sometimes when I rush the command. Also have to ask.. Have you tried turning tangent lines on?
