Lock Horizon - 3D Connexion
It was stated in latest release notes that Shape will get the "lock horizon"
But I don't find where to set it.
My 3DConnexion Enterprise uses a new App Entry (BricsCAD_Shape)
for Shape, not the standard Bricscad* App setting.
(*btw absolutely gorgeous)
And that new Shape Setting seems to be the default "Any App" setting,
without all special Bricscad setting features and Icons.

I think it just misses the "Bricscad Menu" that is assigned to the "MENU" Button
in Bricscad.
In Shape that Button Options missing and "MENU" Button is set to 3DConnexion default of 3DConnexion Driver Settings App.0 -
Do you have unmodified copies of both BricsCAD.xml and BricsCAD_Shape.xml in your 3DxWare/Cfg folder? Does anything change if you rename them? Just something to check.

Yes and no.
I added my Enterprise just for a second test directly to my Windows
virtual machine yesterday.
(Just to see that on Windows I could have real Icons on its display)
But of course I went into button assignments to see what functions Bricscad provides and maybe switched some back and forth.
But looked into Shape's settings for the first time.Shape has less functions available than Bricscad as you can guess in general,
like no BIM Tools. But also the MENU Button opens for :
Shape : Driver's Settings App
Bricscad : "Bricscad Menu"*- which is not available in my Shape Button Options at all and where you would
set the "lock horizon" option.
Have to look into the files if I'll find them.
Normally I use Mac only0 - which is not available in my Shape Button Options at all and where you would

I dug out my spacemouse yesterday, but haven't tried it yet with Bricscad. I did find this artikelhttps://cadnauseam.com/2017/11/10/tip-making-your-3d-controller-work-sensibly-in-bricscad/

^ Nice !
There you can see an image of the "Bricscad Menu"
with the horizon lock. (Missing in my Shape)Normally,
a) the "Menu" that opens the App specific Settings and 3D Mode
(like Walkthrough or Flyover Mode)
and
b) a "Fit View"
are often "hard coded" to the 2 original main Buttons of the original
basic Space Navigator with its 2 Buttons.
Later Models like Space Mouses got some more Buttons, Space Pilot
even a Display and current Top Model Enterprise even some more Buttons. On Mac, Bricscad's Support seems to be stuck in the Space Pilot times.
I think that's why the 3-5 more extra Buttons of the Enterprise do not work
as these extra Buttons are just not yet defined in the Bricscad Settings XML.
(Each button has to be defined by something like "atom - button 12 = "" or such
and its Function hardcoded or adjustable by driver settings)On my Enterprise, the MENU and the FIT Buttons at the bottom seem to be
the 2 original legacy buttons and hardcoded in Bricscad Mac.
That is a bit of a problem as Enterprise has all Windows CTRL/ALT/... Buttons
but misses the very important "CMD" key for Mac.
And therefore I would like to assign CMD to the MENU Button and reach the
also important "Bricscad Menu" from Bricscad Menu Bar instead.Beside the few non-working Buttons of Enterprise, currently those 2 basic
Buttons are hardcoded on Bricscad Mac and I can't assign the "CMD" near
the similar main keys for Enterprise as I do for all other Apps.0 -
Another thing is that on Windows it looks that each App Version uses its
own App Setting in Driver.
In Windows, Shape has its own App Entry beside Bricscad V18.
And as you can't duplicate these Settings (?) you have to create/adapt your
Settings Customizations again. On Mac, 3D Connexion Driver Settings for different Apps do not differ by
App Versions. So Bricscad V18 works still with the same BC V17 setting
I created at that time.
Should be the same for Shape, once there will be a Mac version available.
At least that is what I hope.0 -

These will be re-created as soon as I touch the Driver Settings.
Shape's and Bricscads's XMLs do differ.I see that in Appdata/Local/3DConnexion exist Commands + Settings XMLs
which are Shape related, while no such files for Bricscad itself.
I assume this is the List of available (limited) Shape Commands that you can
customize your buttons with in driver panel.
(there is no "lock horizon" setting in there)
The original unlimited Bricscad List may hang around somewhere else.0 -
I tried the registry method in that link above but then in the shape part of the registry, what a difference. I remember trying to use the 3dconnexion space navigator years ago and I just couldn't get the hang of it, plus it had started to make models wander around the screen all by itself, but I also just found an item about turning the LED off and hey presto, this is fantastic, locking the horizon makes a world of difference, time will tell if that actually has disadvantages in moving about but first impression is a big thumbs up.

Maybe that had to do with a Bricscad running beside Shape or having been
open before Shape was started. I started Shape only and it works as
promised.
