Network licenses availability

I know admin's can see how many licenses there are in use and who's using them but is there a way that an user can see who's using licenses or are they solely dependant on trying to start up Bricscad and if they can't then they just have to go ask the administrator?

The license manager has a web interface, which gives details on license status and usage. You can access this from a web browser (assuming the administror hasn't locked it down) by typing in the following address:
    http://<SERVER>:5054

Replacing <SERVER> with the machine name or IP address of the machine running the license manager.

  • hmm.... will have to see if the IT admin can unlock it so this would be available because at the moment it isn't.

Thank you Jason for the information.

    Have a nice one

  • Hi Peter,

It could also be that they have set the server to use a different port. Either way a trip to IT admin is required.

You could ask for log files to be setup, which would allow you to analyse usage. Log file setup is defined in the options file related to the server license. Attach and example. To attach the file extension has been changed from .opt to .txt.
