Linetype changes after program restart

See the attached picture.
this started only recently but I haven't made any changes to BricsCad so I have no idea why the ellipses are converting to splines and the
splines are applying closed ends to themselves.
Any ideas?

    I've had this happen, too. The drawings where it occurs seem to be random. I haven't been able to find what triggers the problem. I flattened the splines as a work-around.
