External Reference is there....and then it is not

Referencing my company's standard sheet into a drawing. Initially it shows in the layout tab and then it will completely disappear. Have detached and reattached several times but it just won't stick. The other xref'd files are fine. Any ideas?

    Have you purged the file before reattaching the xref?

    In general when something like that happens it helps if you do an "audit" on the offending file itself. In other words, open the external referenced file by itself and perform an audit on it to see if it finds and repairs any errors in it's database.
