Suggestion for Standard Parts
I'm playing around with standard parts, and I feel like it would be a welcome feature to be able to specify the length on the viewport directly.
For example, joining two steel columns together. Distance between columns is usually from center to center, but joining the two steel column with a horizontal length of steel is from side to side.
With the current workflow, we need to calculate the length of the needed piece of steel, or draw a line to get the length of the gap, then specify it on the standard parts dialog. If we can specify the length of the horizontal piece on screen, it would save quite a bit of time. Maybe add a button on the standard parts dialog, "Insert and Specify on screen". Then the viewport prompt is to specify point 1, point 2 for the length, and then the rotation?
Anybody else think this might be a good idea?
