Change entities color

How can I change the colors of the red stairs for example, at the right of the attached drawing?
I can see that the color is by layer, but if I change this, than it does not change like it does drawing a new line for example
Are blocks involved? I tried to figure this out, but could not find how

    As far as I see,
all parts of Stairs are shown as Referenced Blocks in Property Palette or by Rollover Tips.
All Stairs are on the 30-xxxx-ramen-dueren Layer.
And if I open a Block to edit, also nearly all of its Elements are on 30-xxxx-ramen-dueren Layer.

And when I change that 30-xxxx-ramen-dueren Layer from Red to Pink,
all my Stairs and many more Elements switch to Pink - as expected.

  • Thanx for the reply!
I see Block reference (2 or 3) in the Property Palette, bu what it means?
Opening a block to edit; I try to do this via the Drawing Explorer at Layer or Insert-Blocks..
I see a lot of blocks. How do I know wich one to edit? And how can I do this?
If I want to change the color of the layer via the Layer Control Pull Down menu, than it works out fine sometimes, but mostly not.
Sorry fot all this non-experienced questions

  • I open or edit the blocks from the drawing view by the reference edit tools.
I have that palette or parts its tools in custom palettes opened in my UI.
You can go into a block/reference edit mode and access or manipulate
    its contents.
But as you can edit one block at a time only it would be impractical to
send all block’s parts to different layers though....
It looks like all or most content is also set to use layer attributes.
That‘s why changing layer attributes has an effect.

Working from drawing explorer may be faster - if you know your blocks well.
At least there is a preview.
