.plt files

Can I open / view .plt files with Bricscad?

Comments

  • Maybe. Express Tools / File Tools / Convert PLT to DWG.
Doesn't work here as I'm using HPGL2 (vs HPGL) which may(?) attribute.
There is a conversion tool purportedly that does HPGL & HPGL2: http://www.noliturbare.com/convert/plt-to-dxf
I have no experience with it.

  • As an addenda:
Out of curiosity, I DL'd Govert's HPGL2 to DXF Converter mentioned above.
It does work. You'll have to be the judge, however, regarding output quality.
(There are online / paid alternatives available with a search)

  • Note that .plt is just a file extension, not a file format.
The old ACAD express tool converted HPGL files (for pen plotters), but who has seen one of these in the last 20 years?
There are some 3rd party tools out there that may be able to convert HP-GL/2 files

  • There are still a number of freeware PLT viewers available, if you just want to view the drawing.

And here's a non-free one that says it can also convert PLT to PDF or DXF:
