data extraction

Hi all,
I am new to the software and new to BIM too relatively.
I tried to use data extraction in bricscad, but couldn't get the .dxd file

how can I create a .dxd file?

The first time you run Dataextraction, on the first page of the wizard you can tick the box to create a dxd file then click on the elipses (...) to save it with a name, along with naming the csv file you are saving the deatils as.
Then on the next 2 pages of the wizard you can select the details you want to extract. Then in future on the first page of the wizard use the 'based on existing dxd' and select the file you created earlier, which will automatically fill in the details for the second and third pages as you had them the first time.
