Filter in Autocad
The "filter" command in Autocad; I cant find the equivalent command in BricsCAD.

That's done with the QuickSelect bar, which is an interactive alter ego of the Properties bar. It can filter an existing selection set, or create a new selection set with specified filters.

^ I wished it would be as easy, simple, fast and flexible as in Microstation.

Perhaps you could use the SSX command?
I think it may be part of the Express Tools ( https://www.bricsys.com/applications/a/?express-tools-a589-al1002 )See also, this thread: https://forum.bricsys.com/discussion/4464/selection-filter

The STRUCTUREPANEL can be very useful to browse through your drawing entities. Works well in conjunction with PROPERTIES.

I couldn't live without the Structure Panel (Shape!) too,
as I miss many things in standard Selection.
So it helps a lot.But with its auto-expand, after 5 minutes of working it is
easily expanded completely over a length of 25 sites long
to scroll and find your content in the list. Or find the top most
before you can collapse all.
So it is also more tedious than needed.0 -
Michael wrote: "But with its auto-expand, after 5 minutes of working it is

Does that make things less tedious?0 -
Hallo Hans,
in my opinion not really.
I gave this up too because it destroys your manual expansions.Like when you have 2 (Sub)Folders manually expanded,
like Entities and Walls.
To select one of the Entities after the other, to BIMIFY and
check if it is in the correct Wall Type order.
Auto collapse would collapse it again and you would need re-open the
Folder each time again.
(A quite simple and theoretic example but I think it shows what I mean)I would favor that there is another "Option", to allow manual expansion
by not changing Expansions at all by Selections and just show by
highlighting parent Folders, which (collapsed) paths contain selected
Elements. In theory I think Auto-Expand sounds great and I would like it very much
in a small scale. But in Practice a BIM model contains thousands of Entities
that make tree navigation tedious and unreadable.
As you have no idea what already got auto-expanded, you can't even estimate
by scrollbars position how far you have to scroll and have to "read" text

^ In short,
what I ask for is basically just like any Item Manager Tree in a
3D Mesh Modeling App works.
You expand/collapse manually.(Or FreeCAD,
BTW which even doesn't offer anything beside its tree, such as Layers)0
