Veiwports in paper space

I've noticed when I insert a viewport for some reason it inserts 2 viewports. The one I've inserted and works like a normal viewport and a ghost one that is off to one side. I didn't know it was there until I used the quick select to select viewport and it selected 2 viewports. I tried deleting all viewports then re-inserting another viewport thinking it could be one left over from a previous drawing. but when I used quick select again it selected 2 viewports. Is this normal?

    Yes. When you activate a newly created layout 2 VPs are created. One is invisible and is the main paperspace VP. It cannot be erased.
