What is "Entity Data"

What is "Entity Data" in BricsCAD and is it useful for anything ?

I've read some help stuff, but I cant see the point. What is it useful for ? As far as I an tell the data does not update.

    This 'Entity Data' is mainly for use by applications. It allows to attach custom data to entities. But BricsCAD (and AutoCAD) also use it (VP freeze, dim overrides). If you want to know more search for 'Extended Entity Data' in the DXF reference.
