Increase 3D PDF export resolution?

Hi all,

I am trying to see if there is a way of increasing the export resolution for a 3D PDF? I have played with the export settings but cannot seem to find a way to increase the resolution.

Any ideas?

  • I think there are a few settings .... in Settings .... that control
the resolution of Meshes, when converted from Solids.

Similar to how fine "rounded Walls" will display in your 3D Views.

That isn't only an issue for 3D PDF Export.
You need such settings like curve resolution or ACIS conversion to Meshes
in a proper Export Dialog for DXF/DWG/DAE/... too if you want to get your
geometry out, into other CAD or 3D software.
Not just a kind of "Save As" option.
Also very likely you want such export settings very different to what you may
need for working inside of Bricscad.

  • Create a layout on a larger sheet size and make a larger pdf? I installed a pdf writing program to get larger sheet sizes (arch D,E etc)in print dialogs, etc. but the default pdf export should work too. A 24"x 36" pdf looks pretty good if your viewing it on a monitor or printing a smaller size.

There may be a more elegant way to do it, but this works for me.

    BTW,
aren't there any quality settings in Communicator for 3D PDF ?
Like Arc Subdivision and such ?
