Switch plane axes

When I import some 3D models, I get axes inverted, for example, Z is Y. How can I switch this for the whole drawing easily by telling BricsCAD that Y axe becomes the Z axe? I am used to ArchiCAD and Vectorworks, this operation is done quite easily by a simple click. But I can't manage to do it with BricsCAD.

Somehow I am also not very familiar with things like rotating in Brickscad.
I don't really get the workflow, timing and ergonomics of these Tools.

I would need that for Exports like DAE,
but better as an Option to activate from an Export Dialog.
(as well as meshing conversion controls)

But I think it is nearly similar than VW.

    Select All > 3DRotate > X-Axis Option > from 0,0,0 > 90°

to rotate from Z-up to Y-up
    Or vice versa,

    270°

(or -90° if that works in that case)

  • I suppose you ask how to restore the Word Coordinate System (WCS). It's quite simple: Type ucs, then hit Enter twice. Done!

  • If you want to rotate the complete model about the X-, Y- or Z-axis, use the apropriate option of the ROTATE3D command.

  • That is typical of some CAD systems: Solidworks as an example. If that is the case you have the option available in communicator. If not you need to use the ROTATE3D command as reported by Louis.

  • I would love to have the Communicator.
But like similar products for other Software, currently there isn't a
single File Format in there that I could make use of.
(3D PDF maybe, but not really)
But generally that is the way I wish other File Formats (including DXF/DWG),
over a simple "Save As" should be.

I'm curios how that will look like in v19 with FBX and DAE.
