V19 block editor - can't edit blocks "in place" as we used to?

It appears that a new "feature" of the V19 block editor is that the block opens up in its own session of sorts, with no context of the rest of the drawing. Is there a way to display that context as it used to be in V18? I often need to snap to features of other lines that are around the instance of the block that I am editing. Could not find any setting for this but I hope there is one to go back to the V18 method of editing the block in its context in the drawing.

I don't have v19, but the release notes say that they kept the old REFEDIT and just added the new BEDIT as another block editor. It does say that double-clicking on a block now invokes BEDIT instead of REFEDIT, but you should be able to start the REFEDIT command some other way. I would assume that you can right-click on a block and select REFEDIT from the context menu.

  • Change the double-click-action in the cui back to refedit.

  • Awesome, thank you!
