Field doesn´t show the area

I want to create a field with the dimension of the area of a closed polyline. But theres no number appearing. It´s possible to create an field with the name of the drawing.

    A polyline and a 2D polyline have an area property that can be used in a field. Maybe you are dealing with a 3D polyline?
