Endpoint Hotkey Snap

I just downloaded and installed V20 and right off the bat I noticed the hotkey "e" after a middle button mouse click doesn't enable endpoint snap. It highlights "endpoint snap" but doesn't let me select it. If I push "e" again it toggles between "endpoint snap" and "entity snap options". Has anyone found a fix for this besides leaving "endpoint" snap on?
