Nearest Distance no longer working

The command is active but when I select two entities say two lines, nearest distance does not come up, using most up to date version of bricsys ultimate - tried diffeerent workbenches, modelling, mechanical and BIM. I have used this about two months ago but today it is no longer working.

    Check your DYNMODE settings: The second bit has to be set in order to make the nearest distance feature work, see attached screenshot.
    Strange indeed, and that's not all:
    DYNMODE has to be set to at least 2 for dynamic dimensions to display when dragging endpoint grips, and to at least 4 to display when dragging midpoint grips. Even more confusing, it has to be at least 6 for grip dimensions to display, e.g. if you gripselect a rectangle (the default value is 3!). And on top of that: removing the first bit from NEARESTDISTANCE does not disable nearest distance display, it needs NEARESTDISTANCE = 0 to achieve this.
    These observations are made on Linux, maybe the Windows version behaves less erratic...
