Mouse highlighting entities

I am moving from AutoCAD to Bricscad and there are a good many settings to get transferred. Please bear with me as I will be posting here a good number of times till I get things configured in the way I'm used to.

For now, when I move the mouse over the drawing, every entity the mouse crosses over becomes highlighted. I have looked through the settings and cannot find the switch to turn this behavior off. I'm only interested in highlighting something when I select it.

Where can I find the appropriate setting? Thank you.

I don't find the real setting - if there is any.

But at least the setting "PreviewDelay", with a very high number of
milliseconds, should prevent potential preview selection highlighting
flashing when cruising with your cursor over your drawing.

  • BTW
I don't get bothered by selection preview highlighting.
I think it is important, especially in crowded files.
Where you want to reach and select occluded geometry
by cycling through selectable objects by pressing TAB key.

  • In case anyone else might be interested, I finally found the setting. It's under Program Options/Drafting/Selection/Selection Preview/Selection Preview Display where you need to uncheck "When no commands are active".

If you leave it checked (default), the mouse highlights everything it touches whether or not a command is active or not. I find this feature distracting.

    Funny,
I did a lot of search in Settings but did not find it.
Interestingly I also had customized that setting already,
with "When no commands are active" OFF.
    :)

But (!) it still works as expected for me and still highlights.
Only when I deactivate the Quad (who ever would do that ?)
that setting will prevent selection highlighting.
