Bricscad BIM to Revit

Hello all,

I'm currently working on a BIM in bricscad, but I will have to deliver it in Revit.
I classified my model and export it to an .ifc-file, but when I open this in Revit, al the objects are 'generic model'.

It looks like Revit does not recognise the system families (wall, roof, ceiling etc.)

Does anybody has experience with this?

Many thanks in advance!

  • Did you export in IFC2x3 or newer IFC4.0, which is not yet widely supported ?
I recently learned that IFC2x3 would still be the way to go for now.

If I export IFC and open in Vectorworks, I get in all IFC Tags.
You can check your IFC Model in a IFC Viewer.

No experience with Revit or its possible import options from my side.

  • Hello Michael,

    Thank you for your response!
I'm exporting in IFC2x3 but I'll definitely check out my model in a IFC Viewer.
Maybe I'll find something that will explain the strange conversion.
