Line and Entity Elevation
We use V17 and have never had an issue until just the last few days. When we a drafting a simple 2D plan, the atart and end point of a line are sudde lnly not zero (0) amd are completely random. The ELEV variable is set to zero (0) and nothing else is any different from any other time with relation to the sustem variables. Doesn't do this in every drawingas of now but seems to have no rhyme or reason to what or why.

Maybe some 3D lines crept into the file? They would look 2D in 2D view. But when you snap on them to draw a line, the new line would get their Z-coordinates. Try selecting everything and using the FLATTEN command.

But be prepared that anyHatches go haywire when you use FLATTEN.

If you want to do 2d-drafting in a file that might contain entities not entirely in the xy-plane, it is generally a good idea to set OSNAPZ to 1.
