Automatic dimensioning

I have set of random points in the workspace as shown in the figure. I want to automatically dimension those points (linear dimension only) in the best possible way by using any programming language as shown in the right image (for example). Is there any better algorithm for doing it?

  • There was a post over at Forums\autodesk using Ordinate dimensions for this task. What you show is to random. Sorry you will have to google.

  • I was thinking ordinate should be a lot easier to implement as well. Without having to discern patterns, if any, in the collection of points, it will be a lot easier to add the dimensions automatically vs. having to try to dimension within patterns and between pattern anchor points.

Origami is the Japanese word for paper folding. ORI means to fold and KAMI means paper and involves the creation of paper forms usually entirely by folding.
