Drawing Customization gets simpler in BC V22

I don't want to be destructive and appreciate the new possibilities,
to finally get useful, correct and pleasant generated drawings from
a 3D Bim Model, very much.
Nevertheless I have some critique.

I took a look at the Video :
BricsCAD V22 Automate Construction Documentation

And after watching, I have to disagree with a statement that I read pre V22
on the Forum, that Bricscad's Drawing Customization got much easier or
user friendly.
So a few thoughts.

1,
Editing Text or XML Files, for me is no accepted main way of User Input
for Apps on a graphical Operation System UI.
It is just a secondary extra option beside a primary GUI Dialog Window

2.
And if Text File editing is an option - these Files do not belong to the
default User/Settings Folder of standard CAD Users.
They belong to a specific, central Workgroup/Office Standard Folder
(on a server drive).
Automatically found by the CAD App by setting a single Path for all Office
Standards related sub Folders.
It would not harm if this separation is even done for single Users and
even on the local drive.

Sorry, the example Plans in the Video look horrific und unreadable.

3.
There is no visible separation, dimming or size/line weight contrast between
what is geometry and what is an Annotation, it is just all glued together.

4.
The representation of the Furniture Blocks is completely OFF in LOD
for the 1:200 scale of the Plan and not helpful.
(No one drawing such plan by ink in the past would ever draw it that way.
not even montaging copies of a wrong LOD in)
In the future there has to be a Scale dependent LOD in such Blocks.
And I am not sure if it will be sufficient by just using "Container" Layers for
2D representation at different Scales or if it needs an own separate order
system.

As a positive,
the new QT Dialogs, when editing Styles inside these Settings Files,
look very pleasing and promising !

  • I watched that Video in parts and multiple times now.

I see that the features are infinite powerful to solve likely any situation.
Nevertheless I see that the features are not accessible to me that way.
(You have to know all your Search/Filter names if I got that right, while
as long the (any or) Drawing Customization Dialog Window is open,
there is no way to e.g. go back to Layers or Structure Panel to look again
what names you are actually looking for)

    What I expected
(for a much more simplified and user friendly "Drawing Customization"
was more a Cascading Style Sheet aprroach,
where you start from the globals down to the detail.
A parent Dialog or Project Setting where you start from defining one or a few
Font Families for your (by) Project or (global) Office Standard, your Text Sizes
and Colors, Line Thicknesses and Styles for your Dimensions and Annotation's
    frames and Symbols, ....
