How do I make a 2D drawing from a 3d drawing?

I have a 3d dwg file but I just need the top view in 2d. Can I make a 2d drawing from the top view and convert it to a block to use in another drawing? I work with bricscad lite.

    If you make a viewport in you layout with scale 1:1 with a top view.
    You can then export the layout to dwg.
    Just right click the layout tab and select export.

  • Hmmm I assumed that this would work with manual viewports aswell.
    Do you have acces to the baseview (_viewbase) command in Lite?
    It works when you generate your views via that.

    Is it just one file or a few files or something that you need to do often?
    If its just a few file I can convert them for you.
  • Thank you for your help, I installed a trail version of autocad yesterday where I have the flatshot command. It was 14 files that I had to convert. I can now use them in bricscad.
