creating structural axis on non linear solid

Can you create a structural axis on a non linear solid? eg a timber beam that changes its section.

This is a frame I'm working on but I need to allocate a structural axis to each member

    Hi Chris,
    _bimrecalculateaxis should do it, or just classify it as a member/beam or column. There might be situations that the algorithm does not find it. But I just ran some tests on similar geometry and it was calculated correctly.
