BIMSECTION DESTINATION FILE
I am using bimsection for a small project and have a few questions:
- can I use as a destination file the same file I am using for modelling and cutting sections ?this will allow to have a self contained destination file for 2d and 3D. will this create any conflict ?
- sometime the section markers disappear in the drawing ? is this a bug or how can I get them back ?

Hi Luca,
this will probably initially work but it is not intended to use it in this way and we can not guarantee any BIM functionality working correct (bimsectionupdate, bimtag, callouts...). We can also not give any support on this workflow. So our recommendation would be not to use it in this way.
The problems you have with the callouts, is this in the workflow you describe. With a sectionplane referring to the model drawing?

Hallo
thanks for the feedback - Yes section tags missing happens with this workflow.
it may be related I do not know why as I assumed they are generated from a tremplate

Hallo
apologies for reopening this thread again : I have again this error where section markers disappear from a file. This time is a standard _sectionsettings.dwg file. See below: How do I get them back ? is this due to a purge on the file ?
thanks

Hi Luca,
Do you mean, that you purged _SectionSettings.dwg? This can be a reason of missing callouts indeed.
I attached the non-purged file here.Best regards,

The disappearance from my experience is as a result of purging the model file being worked on. You can get them back by creating another section which will recall the callouts from the sectionsettings.dwg file. Also as a workaround you could insert copies of the callout block and assign them to a hidden or frozen layer, that way even when the drawing is purged they remain in the file.

thanks so much - that worked.
