new feature needed for ESNAP ignoring specific layers I still want to see

Hello community,
Because of complex drawings it is often difficult to get a ESNAP of an particular part. Often it snaps on unwanted parts.
Making the _APERTURE system variable smaller is also possible as a solution, but does not really work in this instance.
I know I can freeze, or shut Off, the layer containing that unwanted part, but then that part is not visible anymore.

Are there other BC-users with this issue?
Is this proposed feature useful for others?

Regards, Marc

  • It would be relatively easy to build a custom BRX or .NET plugin that activates an osnap overrule to block snapping to objects that meet certain criteria, like on a certain layer, part of an xref, or something like that. Solutions to this sort of problem are precisely where the power of a customizable platform can really shine.
  • Hey @Marcus65
It may help you to set SNAPTYPE to 0. You lose the Adaptive Grid Snap, but ESNAP works a little differently without it.
