Working Primarily in 3D

Hi Folks,

The building design office I work in would like to transition from working primarily in 2D to primarily in 3D - doing everything from sketching to full construction drawings. We're wondering if there's any offices throughout Australia that use Bricscad for building design / architecture primarily in 3D and if you've had success with this? Or do the majority of firms draw in 2D and only use 3D as a visual tool?

The main thing we're wondering is if you use the bricscad project browser and everything associated with it to set up sheets and automatically generated elevations / floor plans / sections etc? This approach looks like it could be feasible but would take a lot of work to set up and adjust to create the sheets were after, so we're just wondering if anyone has had experience with this and if they have any feedback? Is it possible to fine tune all of the generated sections settings to get the results you're after, and is it feasible to use the generated sections to easily create all of the different types of floor plans required (ceiling plans, fire and exit plans, power and data plans etc)?

Alternatively, I've considered just using 'sectionplanetoblock' and basing our elevations / sections / floor plans off of those blocks in the same model space, and keeping our existing set up the way it is but with a base drawing in 3D instead of 2D.

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks,

Ben
