Open dwg on iphone

Hi everyone,

Is there a Bricscad app to open a dwg on ios/iPhone or mobile device?

  • Not that I know.

But I see that there are 3rd party iOS Apps that can open DWGs.
If I got that right, also Autodesk has a Mobile App that can do this.

I didn't expect that, as e.g. Vectorworks Nomad is not able to open VWX.
You can just examine PDFs, which you can let create in the VW cloud
from the iPhone. Or you can let create a 3D file that you can examine
in a 3D Viewer based on Unity Engine.

AFAIK Bricscad offers any iOS or mobile Apps (?)
  • Yes, there is an AutoCAD app for mobile devices.
You have to create an Autodesk Login, to use it.
It's free for viewing, but if you want to edit the DWG you have to pay 100€/year.
It is also limited to 2D.
If you have your files in a cloud, and you want to quickly show something, it's pretty useful.

I just mentioned Autocad iOS App as it proves that it is really possible
to open DWG on an iPhone, not just PDFs or by other workarounds,
    as I expected so far.

And it looks like there are some other 3rd party Apps in Apple Store.
Did not look deeper into prices, in App purchase needs or features.
Maybe there is a suitable App.
  • Hello,
Besides the applications in App Store, there is Bricsys 24/7 where you can view dwg files.

    Thanks Patricia,

that iOS App went totally under my radar.
I usually do not have any 2D DWGs that I could examine but I think
that is what the large majority of users need on site.

I wish for a cloudless setup via macOS/iOS Finder though.
On my other CAD's with mandatory Cloud usage it is just hindering
when sitting with your iPhone in front of the Mac.
Create a file on the phone save a file, wait until it is moved to the cloud.
Wait until it synched back to Mac. Pull it over from Cloud Folder into
your Project Folder before you open.
And if I rename a File or Folder in the cloud, cloud synching moves the
whole Folder and Content around by duplicating and deleting again.
