remove terrain before creating Tin surface
Hi everyone, I'm somewhat new to the civil side of BricsCAD, and trying to work out how to remove all point cloud above terrain, so i can apply the Tin surface? I have spent all weekend on this and can't seem to find anything on the topic. Or do i need to do this step in cloud compare/ Pix4D then import to BricsCAD?

For anyone working from classified Lidar in LAS/LAZ format (such as the data available from government agencies), the free LidarTools works with BricsCAD v20 or higher and goes straight from Lidar to TinSurfaces without intermediate steps. Note that this is not appropriate for raw drone data that has not been classified yet.

When the pointcloud is not classified, you can classify it in Bricscad. But you need to install the classifier separately:

Once classified, you can use the point cloud directly in the TIN command. It has a smart filter for point clouds. After creation you can refine the TIN with extra point in regions of interest.

Thanks Terry, i will have a look at those plugins, really appreciate the help. I need to work with 51 linear km s 30 mtr wide of e57 point cloud data road capture to create a 1m grid DEM. So a reasonable test for BricCAD.0

Any suggestions to this topic for date generated by NavVis VLX mobile scanner? Will it work with unstructured point cloud?Terry Dotson said:For anyone working from classified Lidar in LAS/LAZ format (such as the data available from government agencies), the free LidarTools works with BricsCAD v20 or higher and goes straight from Lidar to TinSurfaces without intermediate steps. I need to add to my question guys, the point cloud data is unstructured from a NavVis VLX 30

The classifier that is available but needs to be installed separately can handle unstructured data and has a model for terrain scans.
