Is there a way to get a classic Image Manager dialog to appear with the old "im" command line?
I don't really consider images as xrefs.

    You can edit 'IM' alias via Customize dialog to run EXPIMAGES command, which opens Drawing Explorer instead of Attachments panel: run CUI command to open Customize dialog -> switch to Command Aliases tab -> find IM in the left part of the dialog, select it and press Edit -> in the 'Edit Alias' window expand command list, find and choose EXPIMAGES command -> press OK.
