ANIMATION EDITOR

I need help to be able to take full advantage of this tool, but I have no notion of how to do it, I would like an explanation, I have seen videos of how to make the elements of a 3D design appear, one by one, and it catches my attention but I have no idea how to do it

  • Hello.

More information on this topic can be found in the next article.

The Animation Editor panel uses the parameters existing in a drawing.
Based on the settings input by the user, there parameters are varied continuosly resulting in an animation.

To start, the first thing is to create a scene.
This can be done using the tools in the left side of the panel.
A scene is a container of a set of parameters used to create an animation.

The scene properties are listed in the property bar on the right of the panel.
Among others, here you can set the length of the scene and its frame rate.

A drawing can contain multiple scenes.

The parameters added to a scene can be of these types:

    • Camera.
    • Assembly sequence.
    • Regular parameters.

Once a parameter is added to the scene, it has its own time line.
This time line can hold one or many effects.

An effect is a feature that allows to vary the parameter it is assigned to by setting a few properties.
The effect has a start time and an end time.
The start time is associated with the start value of the parameter, and the end time with the end value.
Then, as the time advance, the parameter is varied linearly between the two values.

For a camera effect, you could set a camera path and a target path.
The start point of the path is associated to the start time of the effect.
Similarly, the end point is associated to the end time.
The camera orientation is given by the current position and the camera and the current target point.

For an assembly sequence, the start and end properties of an effect are each associated with one step from the sequence.
More information about assembly sequences can be found in the next articles.

For regular parameters, the start and end time of the effect need to be associated with some values of the parameter.
These settings are available in the property bar, in the right side of the panel.
