Need to disable snaps on the fly when dimensioning

When I used Acad, it was the shift button that disabled snaps on the fly. I can't find info on anything similar for BC. Is there something set up for this without going into the menu to toggle snaps everytime?
thanks

  • Press F3 maybe toggle Osnap on/off

  • Ah! thought I had tried that but apparently not. cheers!

  • Hmm, this turns off the 2d snaps but not the 3d snaps. I need both off at the same time. Is there away to set both for F3?

  • Found the answer: after trying a few things, it turns out f4 turns 3d on and off and f3 turns 2d on and off. All in one would be best for me but this is still very helpful.

  • Now I find I don't know if either snap is on or off using the F3 and F4 method, and I have to fumble through them to get them the way I want. Pining for the days of Acad shift select to deactivate all snaps..

  • Why not write a little lisp defun and use setvar to change the 2d and 3d osnaps, keep current settings, reset then then reset back to on once dim done.

  • Will try that thank you.
