How-to / Tips Needed: Custom Library Setup and Distribution

Web resources appear to be minimal on the topic of BricsCAD library customization as far as exporting/transferring them as part of a comprehensive set of CAD standards.

Your input on the above topic is appreciated and needed!

Thanks,

Clint

  • UPDATE
I located the default library resource files path and directory paths.

    C:\Program Files\Bricsys\BricsCAD V24 en_US\UserDataCache\Support\en_US

    C:\ProgramData\Bricsys\Components\

My plan is to create custom libraries under the local drive under a main folder, C:\BricsCAD.
In settings, do I need to relocate (or, add a new path to,) the default folders located under the Library Directory Path - COMPONENTSPATH ?

    Thanks,

    Clint

  • Our custom libraries were saved to a server and read from there. I found it easier to maintain yes had multiple users, we had custom menu's driving it all. We just added correct support paths.

For a recent client did an Install.lsp this sets paths, loads menu's etc an important part it unzips a zip 37Mb to a newly made directory on the pc as no server. User is then ready to go. Happy to describe more.

    Ideally, you would use AppData\Roaming\Bricsys\BricsCAD\...

    C:\, C:\Program Files\ may require elevated rights

Dear ALANH,Boy, would I like to find out more about this setup! For some background on my current scenario, my company is totally cloud-based, my setup and customization experience has not included shared customization nor multiple user support.I am open to learning how best to make available company CAD customization.P.S.: It is too bad that I cannot get forum messaging to work on my end. Can you?
