Bad CRC dwg

When I try loading an old (Release 9?) dwg in R2000 and R14 I get this message:Bad CRC in drawing header c:\drawings\AV.dwgDrawing requires recovery. Then a dialog appears with a similar message:Unable to load this drawing because it contains incorrect or corrupted information:<c:\drawings\AV.dwg>The technical problem detected is:C:\drawings\AV.dwgThe "Recover damaged drawing" selection may be used to restore undamaged material from this file:<c:\drawings\AV.dwg>When I try to recover it i get another dialog:Unable to recover this drawing file <c:\drawings\AV.dwg>Similar message appears in IntelliCAD too!If any one has a utility that may be able to salvage this dwg or can point me to one it would be greatly appreciated.I have placed a copy of the DWG in the AutoCAD discussion area under the "Customer Files" group. Or you can e-mail me at av@computersupport.itgo.comThanks in advance. Andreas Vasiliou

  • I think you will need binary editing to do it. Replace the header by another header in a hex editor.Maybe try headers of different dwg types to get the version right.regards, sander, bricsnet
