convert coordinates PT-TM06/ETRS89 to WGS84

Hi there. Not really a question about brics but maybe some can help. I sometimes receive files with location plans with coordinates in PT-TM06/ETRS89, I need to find where they are in google maps, so I need to convert to WGS84. It seems it is very difficult to find an online unit converter for this, or even the conversion formula, any help ?

Thanks you

  • Hello.

It appears that EPSG:3763 could be used for this case.
    https://epsg.io/3763

There are some transformations available in a drop-down list.
When you click on Transform, there is a conversion form available.
    https://epsg.io/transform#s_srs=3763&t_srs=4326&ops=1149&x=NaN&y=NaN

  • If you were to consider third party add-ons, read on. If BricsCAD supports the current drawing system (PT-TM06/ETRS89?) DotSoft's BCSTools for BricsCAD Civil (v24) will either transform almost all objects inside the current drawing to the target system. Although it sounds like you would really just like to output directly to Goo' Maps or Earth. The low cost DotSoft package also has an exhaustive Map Publish tool that produces KML files that usually looks exactly like your drawing.

If BricsCAD does not currently support your coordinate system, look at adding the Bricsys supplied CSMAP overlay at the bottom of this page.

  • Thanks for your replays, that link works for what I need. I also find other site that also does the transformations https://tool-online.com/en/coordinate-converter.php#

I really dont need extra addons, neither transform the file coordinates, I just need to check in google maps where is the locations. Again, thank you all.

  • If your needs ever grow, the same add-on contains a unique Drawing Harvest tool that will scan a folder (and its subfolders) and quickly extract the drawing extents, properties, and preview and builds a single KML file that shows the extents of each file along with that information in GE. Clicking a tiles placemark in GE shows the details table, clicking the drawing hyperlink opens the DWG file in BricsCAD. Sort of like a visual catalog inside GE !
