Section of a non-solid surface or poly-surface.

Hi!
Is it possible to generate a section line of non-closed surface or poly-surface?
I am only able to generate: boundary, fill or view layers with the default section. I do not see any toggle to switch on open surface section generation.
This would be very useful since I usually import the IFC of a 3d ventilation model that consists entirely of single surfaces.
Other imported geometries are usually non-solid as well and I occasionally need a section from those.

    Hello.

    I am not sure about the exact case, but you could test with using the INTERSECT command.

    For this approach, a copy of the surface should be used, because the selected surface will be deleted by the command.

    As section plane, a region entity could be used.

    are you trying to generate a section of surfaces?

    Both SECTIONPLANETOBLOCK and BIMSECTIONUPDATE do support region, surface and mesh entities.

    BIMSECTIONUPDATE is capable of generating lines on background and boundary layer, a fill layer is not possible since it is a non closed surface
