How to show a external reference in the activated story?

I tried activated a story but all external reference as hidden. how allow show a external reference in a story?

    Activate story shows a clipped 3d view of the model from half the story height to half the story below. You can change these levels by dragging the border of the dark gray zone in the story bar. Maybe the Xref is out of this clipping area?

    is possible snap to any endpoint or element?

    sorry, I don't understand the question. Object snap should work normal in top view mode if that is the question.
