Using PLANE(SOLID) as a Reference in Assemblies in BricsCAD
I've been using the PLANE(SOLID)
command to create a kind of "reference plane" when assembling multiple parts or subassemblies in BricsCAD. This feature has been extremely helpful as a workaround for a traditional workplane, especially in situations where I need a reference to set up assembly constraints and align parts accurately.
In addition to the benefits it already provides in terms of visualization and control, one particularly convenient feature is that these surfaces created with PLANE(SOLID)
do not appear in the projected views in Paper Space. This keeps the drawing clean and avoids having auxiliary references interfere with the final views, which is a great advantage for documentation and presentation.
This solution is a temporary workaround, but for anyone missing the fixed workplanes found in software like SolidWorks, it can be an important aid. This tip could help those who need visual references in assemblies and prefer to keep the Paper Space uncluttered.

In V25 they have introduced the option of work planes.
You can also create constraints to the UCS of your current model and to inserted components.
Using dummy solids or components is still a useful option though.

The UCS replaces the plans well. However, when inserting your part or assembly into another assembly, it is not possible to see the USC of the inserted part or part and this is a problem, in my opinion the biggest one.

Yes, visualization of the UCS is difficult. Best to make sure that the UCSICON is on. It provides a visual indication of a components UCS when creating constraints.
