Using viewports in modelspace

Hello,

I have previously been able to switch to a saved viewport in modelspace, but I am unable to now.

For example:

In elevation view I create a viewport (vport/save/elevation)

I then go on plan view at amend a drawing in the World orientation.

I want to go back to my elevation where I created a viewport so I type (vport/restore/elevation).

Nothing happens. UCS follow is on. If I check a list of viewports, they do exist.

Does anybody know how to fix this? Many thanks!

  • Hello.

This might be about saving the view, meaning the view point used to view the model.
In this case, the -VIEW command could be used, first with the option Save, and then with the option Restore.

  • Hi, thank you for the reply. I tried -view and it does work to some degree but my crosshair colours change, meaning I am drawing in the wrong plane.

  • Hello.

I am not sure about the crosshair color change.
You might experiment with the dynamic UCS (DUCS), turning it ON and OFF.
