Scale repeat scale factor

In Ver 24 when you used scale, you could hit return to redo scale and it would remember the number you used , Ver 25 does not do this is it a setting or a change to program when updated?

: SCALE
Select entities to scale [selection options (?)]:
Entities in set: 1
Select entities to scale [selection options (?)]:
Base point:
Scale factor or [Reference/Copy] <2.0>: ←— here is the scale factor missing in ver 25

That re-use of the previous scale factor has been part of Bricscad's SCALE command for a long time. It would be a shame to lose it. But I found a video from 4 years ago, and one from a year ago, that make it look like the Autocad SCALE command never had that feature. So maybe that's why they changed it. I think they get complaints about any differences from the Autocad way of doing things, even if the Bricscad way is clearly better.

But it would be easy to make a custom version of the SCALE command that always doubles the size of the selected objects. And not too hard to make a custom version that remembers the scale factor and makes it the default value until you enter a new one.

  • As I see, this has been reported already via Support request, and a task created to restore a previous value in SCALE command. In AutoCAD the command uses last scale by empty input, but I agree that old BricsCAD approach was more user-friendly.

  • Thanks for the replies, look forward to the update. Thanks again
