Materials central database with translated names?
As a Portuguese reseller/instructor, all my BricsCAD BIM clients use the English version. Of course the materials in central database have names in English. Is there a way to apply the materials central database of the Portuguese (Brazilian) version? Same with compositions.
The only way I found is to duplicate each material and rename it.

Additional info: after creating a material duplication in central database, opening or starting a new file, the material central database doesn't show the new material. Am I missing something?

That is a really interesting idea !
I also use only English Versions of Bricscad or Vectorworks. Same for my 3D Apps.
Although both are available in a German localized Version. Because of international Communication and Support. It would be just hindering to have Commands and Tools translated to a local language.
But I also would love/prefer to have localized Libraries, Help Files, Tool Tips, ….I recently learned that this works fine in Blender.
You set your local language but you can deactivate translation for the whole GUI. So everything stays English, beside your Tooltip's Texts, while the Python Command Reference also stays "international"On the other hand, just translating Library Content's Names does not help.
It would need to offer Content adapted to local building standards, which AFAIR does not happen for the German Bricscad release (?). But at least Bricscad Libraries aren't contaminated with imperial unit legacy and strange building standards as for my other US BIM CAD …Wouldn't it work easier by assigning the Paths to a different locations/Libraries in a custom Workspace ?

Best way so far, as a client is doing: creating new materials with correct names and adding them to the central database (right click menu) on BLMATERIALS. After some projects, all main materials will be there. Thus it's a question of cleaning/renaming and set the new one as default.
Other possibility, not used, is to export the central database as XML in BIMPROJECTINFO, open the XML file (Notepad++ or other) and renaming there what you want. Then importing to a new database.
It's working, I probably made a mistake.
