Resizing parametric objects
In bricsacd there is a paramentric table and chairs, this is great and would be very useful, however it is scaled too large. I need to scale it by .1, so it is milimeters not meters.
I know i can scale it when inserted as a block, but i would rather have it insert at the right scale.
Is this possible?
When i open the model and try to scale it; it messess all the alighnments and parametrics up.

Although it would still be good to know if you can scale a model, once it has parameters and constriants.
I have started from scracth and made a smaller model.

Hello.
One way of working would be to set the units in a way so that the block is scaled when inserted.
If the block units are set to millimeters, by setting the main drawing's units to meters, the block will be inserted with its real size.
For instance, a dimension of 500 [mm] inside the block, will be 0.5 [m] inside the main drawing.
Regarding scaling parametric geometry, this could work depending on the complexity of the geometry and parametrization.
With complex geometry and parametrization, the scaling will rather fail.
Something to try would be to incrementally reduce the parameters in a way that the solver can find a solution to accommodate the geometry to them.
In the end, the units need to be adjusted accordingly.0 -
Thanks for the info Virgil, i will see where it take s me.
