printing grey/white colours not working Printing to PDF

I have a drawing with an aerial image, some shading and an attached x-ref with contours in modelspace in my drawing. Each of these entities is visible through a viewport. The draworder of the objects is Aerial image is sent to the back, then the shading, then the contours are brought to the front. When I set the layer colour of the contours to any colour other than a white or a light grey, say colour 170 or colour 6 (magenta), they print correctly to a pdf. If I try to print to a pdf with the colour of the countours set to a colour that is supposed to print as white or light grey, Say colour 254 or truecolour 255,255,255, the contours don't print. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Have you looked at the ctb your using to plot ? You can customise a ctb to suit your plot needs. We had 4 ctb's Mono, Colour etc. Plot then look top right. Our default color ctb had 1-8 as black, varying widths, 9-250 actual colour and fixed width, 251-254 greys.

  • As Alan said, it sounds like a plot style table problem. Can you post a screenshot of the Plot Style Table > Form View for color 255?

But also, which virtual printer are you using? I've seen problems like this with certain PDF printers. The one that works best for me is the built-in "Print to PDF."
