Civil Survey String Editor - first draft for a bunch of feature requests.

I don't see a forum segment dedicated to Civil Survey so I'll stick with posting in 2D Drafting.

I took a closer look at the String Editor. I have several comments on improving the ease of use.

  • As your in AUS I would look at " Stringer" its an Australian product and runs inside Bricscad. It has local support an important feature. You could download the trial but I would get in touch and talk about your questions. They can point you to some Utubes so can see some examples.

Where are you I am near Newcastle NSW. I started with Acad 1.4 yes 40+ years ago ex Civilcad State rep, ex Topcon.

    Can talk via PM.

  • Hi ALANH. I'm actually in the US. I started on AutoCAD 2.52. 1986 ish. I worked for Softdesk/Autodesk in the 90's doing tech support. I was in the Autodesk reseller channel a long time. I helped Florida DOT implement Civil 3D but they are so heavily invested in Bentley the momentum closes their minds to anything else. Today I provide training, tech support, and mostly do project work for a few surveyors and engineers. The Autodesk greed machine has stifled innovation that matters to small firms. Subscription has held everyone hostage. The time is right for BricsCAD to provide automation that everyday CAD operators with homegrown skills can move forward to deliver the best results for their clients. They can move beyond dumb drawings to provide asset managers with quality basemap data.
