Fine tuning the layiso command and a Bricscad equivalent to the AUTOCAD express tools layer bar

This is my first post (two days into my migration from Autocad to Bricscad). My question is twofold: 1) is there a way to fine tune the layiso command so that it turns off everything but the selected layer instead of freezing them. 2) is there an equivalent to the old Autocad express layer toolbar IE LAYOFF, LAYON. LAYFRZ,LAYTHW ECT. Forgive me if this is a topic that has been covered elsewhere (I did look)

  • LAYISO has a Settings option, which allows you to choose Off or Lock, and Vpfreeze or Off for viewports.

I'm using an older version of Bricscad, in which Express Tools was an add-on rather than built-in. It offers a toolbar called "ET:Layer." If your version doesn't have the equivalent, it might just be turned off by default in favor of the Quad Cursor. If it doesn't exist, you can add tools and/or toolbars with the Toolbars tab of the Customize dialog box.

  • Since you're new to Bricscad, I should point out another interesting connection between Off and VPfreeze. I don't know whether it's the same in Autocad.

If you make a layerstate that turns off all the layers you don't want to include in a drawing, you can use that layerstate to VPfreeze those same layers in a viewport. Just click into the viewport, and restore the layerstate. Restoring it in the model tab turns those layers off, but restoring it in a viewport VPfreezes them, so they won't appear in that viewport even if they're turned on in the model tab.

And the easy way to restore a layerstate is with the pull-down list of layerstates just to the right of the pull-down lists of layers, colors, linetypes, and lineweights.
